Eren Yeager decided to dedicate his life to combat Titans after he witnessed a horrific personal loss at the hands of one of those creatures.

Eren enlists in the Survey Corps. They are an elite military unit that combats the merciless Titans outside the protection of the walls.

The Walls surrounding the last remnants of humanity were built many generations back. It was the last desperate attempt by humanity to survive the Titaninvasion.

Before the Wall, Titans were eating humans to extinction. Nothing they did made a dent in the Titaninvasion.

But the Walls do not last forever, and now they are beginning to fail, and no one remembers how to build new ones.

Can Eren Yeager and the rest of the Survey Corps stand against the Titans?

Attack on Titan, or Shingeki no Kyojin is an excellent anime.

If you like Shounen then it is a must-watch, and it is good even if you usually do not watch this genre.

It's among the better animes, so it something that should be given an attempt. Just be warned, it's a Shounen, so it's on the longer side.

Both Claymore and Attack on Titan have a post-apocalyptic feel to them.

They are both set in a violent world where humans have to fight against strong creatures that see humans as a food source.

Some of the main differences are that Attack on Titan is more on the science fiction side and it has a much larger cast of characters.

Attack on Titan is probably one of the animes that are most similar to Claymore.

Kohta and Yuka are cousins and both are college students. Lucy is found by them naked and half-drowned on the beach.

Kohta and Yuka decide to take Lucy home and care for her until she gets back on her feet.

What they do not know is that Lucy is a Diclonius. Diclonius are mutated humans with horns and telekinetic abilities. Being different like this usually lands them in human experimental facilities.

Lucy have just escaped such an experimental facility. She has been kept there in captivity since she was born. She has been the victim of inhumane scientific experiments by the government.

During her escape, Lucy murdered everyone she crossed. Being tortured and kept in captivity since a child has made her a murderous menace.

But at the end of her escape, Lucy was injured. The injury left her with a split personality.

It was this other harmless childlike personality that Kohta and Yuka met when they took her int their home.

This act of kindness will change their lives. They soon find themselves dragged into the shadowy world of government secrecy and conspiracy.

Elfen Lied was one of the first animes I watched, and for a long time, it was my favorite anime too.

It is bloody, gory, emotional, and it has a good story.

This is a must-watch anime, especially for anime fans. But others might like it too.

Elfen Lied is also full of blood, gore, and body parts.

But just like Glaymore, Elfen Lied also has more to it than just that. There is a real and deep story going on, one that will bring fort similar sad feelings.

If you like Claymore then Elfen Lied is absolutely worth watching.

Guts is a brave young warrior who fights as a mercenary on the front lines.

He befriends the charismatic and deadly Griffith.

Griffith is the leader of the Band of the Hawk, a group of rogue soldiers.

The armies of Midland will quake with fear as Griffith and Guts set off on a path that will bring the world to its knees.

I love Berserk.

It a masterpiece.

People who have never watched animes might also like it.

Berserk is also full of blood, gore, and body parts. It's slightly darker than Claymore.

Both shows have a quiet lead character with a giant sword. They both have a medieval setting and a similarish style to them.

If you like Claymore then its definitely worth taking a look at Berserk.

Two groups have been at war for ages.

The immortal bloodsucking monsters called Chiropterans and the organization known as the Red Shield.

Red Shield was formed to track down the Chiropterans and kill them.

Saya Otonashiis a high-school girl who lives a peaceful life with her family. She sadly suffers from amnesia and can't remember the last year of her life. But other than that, everything is good.

But one day Saya's happy life is destroyed.

A man gives her a katana and she finds herself fighting Chiropterans. And she is good at it. Like she has done this before.

Blood+ is a good anime that any anime fan should watch.

People new to animes can also try this one out.

The battles have a reason. They are not added on and drawn out like most other shounen anime.

The characters are in focus and it shows how they change and adapt to events happening around them and to them.

Both Blood+ and Claymore have monster-fighting female warriors as main characters. Both shows have a deep story, they are not just about fighting.

Blood+ is like Claymore in modern times. If you like one of them then you might like the other.

Ken Kaneki is a shy and bookish college student. When he meets the beautiful and mysterious Rize Kamishiro he is instantly drawn toward her. She is a book reader just like him.

But Rize is not exactly who she seems, she is a Ghoul. And Kaneki is her pray.

Ghouls are creatures that can masquerade as humans and blend in with human society. But unlike humans, they thirst for human flesh.

Tokyo is infested with Ghouls living side by side with humans. They live in hiding and hunt in secret.

Kaneki survives being attacked by Rize, but not without severe repercussions. Some of his organs were destroyed, and the surgeon uses some of Rize's organs to save Kaneki since she died during her attack. Having Ghoul organs in him changes Kaneki.

Kaneki is now half-ghoul and half-human.

Now Kaneki has to deal with his thirst for human flesh and hiding his true nature. Thus begins Kaneki's quest to integrate into both Ghoul and Human society.

Tokyo Ghoul is a dark and gory anime. It has an interesting story and good animations.

I really like this anime.

It's not among the best, but it's still absolutely worth watching. But if you have read the manga then you might be disappointed, or so I have heard.

Tokyo Ghoul is also a dark gory show with monsters that eat humans. The main characters in both shows are part human and part monster. Tokyo Ghoul has slightly less action than Claymore.

Tatsumi is a naive village boy that wants to save his village. He has trained all his life to leave his village to find a way to earn enough to help his impoverished village.

His naivety almost cuts his journey short as soon as he reaches the capital. A place that is full of thieves, corruption, and death.

Just as his journey is about to end Tatsumi is saved by the Night Rider group, a group of wanted assassins. And he ends up joining them and their cause.

The Night Rider group is a covert assassination branch of the Revolutionary Army.

The Revolutionary Army, including the Night Riders, aims to overthrow the evil Prime Minister Honest and all the corrupt nobility.

Prime Minister Honest control the child emperor as if he was a marionette. His greed is ruining the empire.

The Night Raids do their best by assassinating all that stands in the way of the Revolutionary Army. But they mainly assassinate evil and corrupt nobility and leaders.

We follow Tatsumi in his fight against the corruption and evil that infests the Empire. We see him learn about powerful magical weapons, fight enemy assassins, challenges to his own morals and values, and learn what it truly means to be an assassin with a cause.

Akame ga Kill! is a dark and gory anime. If that's your thing then it's worth watching. But it's not the best of its kind.

It's not unique or among the best, but it's still worth a try.

Akame ga Kill! is not as good as Claymore, but it has some similarities. Even if it is not as good it is still worth watching.

Tanjirou Kamado lives with his family on a remote mountain far away from the closest village. Even being poor and living far away they enjoy a relatively peaceful and happy life together.

But one-day Tanjirous life changes radically.

Tanjirou has been over at the closest village selling some charcoal. But he is late on his way home and is forced to take shelter in the house of a strange man. This strange man warns him of the existence of flesh-eating demons lurking in the woods at night.

When Tanjirou finally arrives back home the next day he is greeted with a horrible sight. His whole family has been slaughtered. Except for his sister Nezuko, but his sister did not really survive.

He's sister has turned into a bloodthirsty demon.

Tanjirou will do whatever it takes to slay demons and protect his sister. He joins a mysterious group calling themselves the Demon Slayer Corps to keep his promises

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is actually a very good shounen. Shounen animes are often long dragged and mostly battles, but this one is actually able to keep it interesting.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is worth watching, but it still might not be the best choice if you hate Shounen or are new to anime and not a teenager.

Masane Amaha discovers that she can transform into a powerful being.

This discovery comes about when she is attacked by an advanced weapon that can disguise itself as a human being.

Masane destroys the weapon and thus becomes involved in a power struggle between powerful organizations.

They discovered that she holds the most powerful weapon of them all.

The legendary Witchblade.

Witchblade is quite good.

It's very character-driven and has nice pacing.

Witchblade is actually based on an American comic and not a Japanese manga.

It`s absolutely worth giving this anime a chance.

The World has been a wasteland of ash and mist for over a thousand years. The Lord Ruler of this world, the "Sliver of Infinity", has reigned with absolute power and ultimate terror.

Every revolt against The Lord Ruler has failed miserably.

But then a terribly scarred and heart-broken half-Skaa in the depths of the Lord Ruler`s most hellish prison snapped. His name is Kelsier, and when he snapped he suddenly found himself with the powers of a Mistborn.

A Mistborn can burn all sixteen of the Allomantic metals.

Kelsier is a brilliant thief, con man, and a natural leader. He decided to turn his talents to the ultimate play.

A play with theLord Ruler himself as the mark.

For this ultimate play, he recruited the underworld`s elite. The smartest and most trustworthy allomancers, each of whom capable of burning one of the Allomantic metals.

Kelsier`s plan looks more like the ultimate long shot until luck brings a ragged girl named Vin into his life.

Vin has the potential to become a Mistborn like Kelsier himself.

This is the first book in the Mistborn series. Both this book and the rest of the series is really good.

This series has detailed world-building, especially the magic system, and an interesting main character. Sanderson shines on these points. Hi is an excellent epic fantasy author.

If you like fantasy books then Mistborn should be a must-read.

Jane Yellowrock is a skinwalker

She shares her body with the soul of a mountain lion and she can take any form as long as she has some bones with DNA from the shape she wants.

Jane works as a freelance rogue-vampire hunter.

In this first book, she is hired to take care of a nasty rogue-vampire in New Orleans. When she is there she comes in contact with the vampire society and learns about the "sane" vampires. She also learns more about her own Cherokee heritage.

A great story and strong characters make this an excellent series.

You should read this. Absolutely worth checking out if you like these kinds of books.

Demons possessing supernatural powers come up from the center of the earth at night.

And they are hungry for human flesh.

Humans have to hide inside between magic wards for protection or risk almost certain death.

After centuries with the demon threat the human population dwindles. Most of the ancient wards are forgotten.

Humanity no longer knows how to fight back.

But three young survivors of demon attacks, Arlen, Leesha, and Rojer, dare to fight back.

The Painted Man (The Warded Man), is an excellent book.

Sadly some of the later books in the Demon Cycle series have gone somewhat downhill.

Young Fitz is born on the wrong side of the sheets, he is the bastard son of Prince Chivalry.

As a young child, Fitz is raised as a stableboy in the shadow of the royal court. He is raised by his father's stableman, Burrich, the stablemaster at Buckkeep.

Fitz is treated as an outcast by all the nobles except by King Shrewd, who has him secretly tutored to become an assassin.

In Fitz's blood runs the magic called Skill, and the more animalistic, and by most, the abhorred art known as the Wit.

Fitz is growing to manhood, and soon he will face his first dangerous, soul-crushing mission as an assassin to the crown.

This is the first book in The Farseer trilogy, and it is very good. This series is among the books that are a must-read for any fan of fantasy books.

Rachel Mariana Morgan is a witch in her twenties. She is a part-owner of Vampiric Charms.

Vampiric Charms is a freelance runner and security service.

The other owners of Vampiric Charms are Ivy Tamwood and Jenks. Ivy Tamwood is a living vampire that will become a full vampire if she dies, and Jenks, a small pixy.

They used to work together at the vampire-run federal Inderland Security (IS). It's a police service for the supernatural.

Rachel, Ivy, and Jenks, decided to start their own company together, Vampiric Charms.

They live and work together from a decommissioned stone church. The church is in the Hollows district of Cincinnati and has an attached garden and graveyard. Rachel specializes in simple herb-based earth magic. The Curch garden is important for Rachels's magic.

Overall, an exciting, fun read, that`s hard to put down.

This is a highly recommended Fast-paced and captivating book series.

The Witcher follows the story of Geralt of Rivia, one of the few remaining witchers.

Witchers are humans that are magically altered to make them better at fighting magical monsters.

Geralt is a Witcher and a solitary monster hunter. He has to traverse a world where people often are more wicked and brutal than the monsters and beast he was made to hunt.

In the midst of brutal changes on the continent, Geralt's life is forcefully changed by destiny. His fate is tightly intertwined with two other people. A powerful sorceress and a young princess with a special gift.

The Witcher is base on a series with the same name by the Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski.

An excellent game series is also based on his books.

The witcher is a top-notch show from Netflix.

I relay hope they keep it alive for many seasons.

Season one was a little confusing with different stories on different timelines, but as soon as I got what was happening it was ok.

Henry Cavill does an excellent job as Geralt, a perfect match. And the show has some of the better sword fighting scenes than I have ever seen on a TV show.

The Witcher is a must watch show on Netflix

Geralt is also part human and part something else. He hunts monsters and is a badass warrior. The Witcher is a dark medieval show and its good.

If you like Claymore then you will probably also like The Witcher.

Penny Dreadful follows some unique characters and some figures from classic literature. Dorian Gray, and Dr. Frankenstein and his monster are some of these characters.

We follow these characters as they go about their frightening business in the darkest corners of Victorian London. With vampires, evil spirits and immortal beasts.

Penny Dreadful is a psychological thriller filled with dark mystery and chilling suspense.

Perfect atmosphere, dense, Gothic, surreal and unsettling. A really grim and fantastic depiction of Victorian London.

Some characters are predictable and dull, but many are unique and interesting with literate and dense dialog. And best of all, it has very few cheap jumps scares.

Penny Dreadful is absolutely worth watching. I love it.
