Patrick and Homes are both excellent at observing minute clues and drawing mostly correct conclusions. They are both also not above bending the rules to solve their cases.
Sherlock is the better show, but sadly it does not has as many episodes. But the episodes it has is really good.

Lucifer is so smitten with this detective that he decides to join the LAPD as a consultant. He uses his power to draw out people's deepest desires and wishes to solve crimes.
Is Lucifer good?
I love this show.
I know it`s jet another crime show with a specially gifted but flawed main person, but I still love it.
Some people get in a fizzy fit because the TV show goes too far away from the comic. I have never read the comic books so I don really care about that.
Why is Lucifer recommended?
Lucifer is a paranormal show but is has police procedural elements.
The main characters also have some common characteristics, but also very different. Lucifer does not deny himself worldly pleasures.
If you like The Mentalist and supernatural elements, then Lucifer is definitely worth watching.

Monk is also brilliant at finding minute details and drawing conclusions from it. But Monk is less willing to bend the rules than Patrick. He only bends them when his conditions make him.

Elementary is a modern take on the classic stories of Sherlock Holmes.
Sherlock lives in New York and works as a private detective. He used to live and worked in England, but he moved.

Castle
Rick Castle, a popular crime author, is asked to help NYPD homicide to investigate a murder.
A murder that is an exact copy from his book.
When this first case is solved, Rick Castle decides to stay on with detective Kate Beckett and her team. He got permission because he was so helpful with the first case, and being a personal friend of the mayor did not hurt either.
Rick Castel keeps working with the NYPD after the first case is over to do research for his next book. But having fun and becoming close with detective Kate Beckett is another strong reason.
Is Castle good?
It is interesting to listen to all the crazy ideas Castle rattles of on how and why the crimes are committed. I really like this show.

Not only is the show about catching criminals. A second thrilling plotline surrounding Elizabeth Keen is also in play over the whole show.
It`s cool to watch worldwide criminals taken down.

Patrick and Cal are both no strangers to bending the rules if it helps them.
Life
Charlie Crews, an LAPD detective, was wrongly imprisoned 12 years for a murder he did not commit. He got a $50 million settlement when he was released, and he still chose to go back to work as a detective.
His years in prison changed him. He got a new spiritual outlook on life, a strong fondness for fruit, and a highly unusual approach to solving crime

Is Numb3rs good?
Numb3rs is a cool series. I have watched it a couple of times.
It`s interesting to see how they use different algorithms to solve criminal cases. Like most shows, they do simplify things. Some of the data points are much too complicated to gather in the time they do. And some of the data is way too generalized to get so exact results as they get. But this is common in almost every piece of entertainment. This show still rocks.
Why is Numb3rs recommended?
Both shows are about police consultants. They are both brilliant at their method of working, but it is drastically different.
