Patrick Jane is a former famous psychic. He outs himself as a fake after a serial killer called Red John kills his family.

Jane blames himself. Right before the murders of his family, Jane was mocking Red John on national TV.

Jane joins the California Bureau of Investigation, the CBI, as a consultant. His life goal is to hunt down and kill Read John. Working for the CBI makes this easier.

Jane's skills as a mentalist, ex psychic, and con man come in handy. He's an expert at picking up on small details, thinking on his feet, and tricking people to get what he wants. His unorthodox methods help CBI to close lots of cases.

This is a really good show. They drag the Red John story out a little too long, but that`s OK since the main part of the show is the individual cases and the relationships between the characters.

The Mentalist and White Collar are two very similar shows. Partick and Neal both have many similar professional and personal characteristics.

It might be easier to say what's different.

The Mentalist has more focus on murderers, but they do other serious crimes too, but mostly murderers. Patrick also does what he wants the way he wants it, but he's less selfish and less self-centered than Neal. Patric also used to be a con man, but he changed, and he never was as blatantly criminal as Neal.

If you like White Collar then you will most definitely also like The Mentalist.

Lucifer Morningstar is bored with his life and duties as the lord of hell. He decided to take a vacation in the city of angels.

Lucifer owns one of the cities most prestigious nightclubs. There he lives a life full of delicious sin and fun while trading favors with clients.

But when one of his clients is gunned down he teams up with an LAPD detective to solve the case.

Lucifer is so smitten with this detective that he decides to join the LAPD as a consultant. He uses his power to draw out people's deepest desires and wishes to solve crimes.

I love this show.

I know it`s jet another crime show with a specially gifted but flawed main person, but I still love it.

Some people get in a fizzy fit because the TV show goes too far away from the comic. I have never read the comic books so I don really care about that.

Lucifer might be more of a fantasy show, but it has many similarities with White Collar. They both have police procedural elements, main characters with many similarities.

Lucifer and Neal both have a good fashion sense and both like to indulge in life's pleasures. Lucifer is, of course, a little more on the violent and sexual side with his pleasures. 

If you like White Collar then you will probably also like Lucifer, especially if you also like fantasy elements.

Rick Castle, a popular crime author, is asked to help NYPD homicide to investigate a murder.

A murder that is an exact copy from his book.

When this first case is solved, Rick Castle decides to stay on with detective Kate Beckett and her team. He got permission because he was so helpful with the first case, and being a personal friend of the mayor did not hurt either.

Rick Castel keeps working with the NYPD after the first case is over to do research for his next book. But having fun and becoming close with detective Kate Beckett is another strong reason.

It is interesting to listen to all the crazy ideas Castle rattles of on how and why the crimes are committed. I really like this show.

White Collar and Castel are both police procedural shows with some unusual consultant as the main character. Richard Castle might not be a criminal, but his attitude still has some similarities with Neal.

Castle is worth checking out of you like White Collar.

Mike Ross brilliant college dropout with a photographic memory. He made his living on taking the LSAT for others and doing other dubious jobs.

All this changed when fleeing from a drug deal gone bad he slips into a job interview with one of New York City's best legal closers, Harvey Specter.

Luckily for Mike, he had once taken the Bar exam as a dare and passed, which made him ace the interview. Harvey saw right truth him but still decided to take a chance on him.

Proving to be an irrepressible duo Mike and Harvey must keep their secret from everyone.

Suits is in many ways quite different from White Collar, but they still have something that makes them kind of similar. It strikes a fine balance between drama, intrigue, and comedy.

If you want a legal show that feels like White Collar then Suits is the perfect fit.

An FBI most wanted fugitive, Raymond Reddington (Red), joins FBI to help bring down criminals and terrorists.

Red agrees to help to catch these bad guys only if he gets Elizabeth Keen, a rookie FBI profiler, as his handler. After their first victory, a list of dangerous but unknown criminals is revealed by Red. With a special team, they start to catch them one by one.

I like The Blacklist, it's a cool show.

Not only is the show about catching criminals. A second thrilling plotline surrounding Elizabeth Keen is also in play over the whole show.

It`s cool to watch worldwide criminals taken down.

The Blacklist and White Collar both have criminals helping the law catching bad guys.

John Reese, a former CIA operative, is recruited by Harold Finch, billionaire software-genius. Harold wants John to help him with preventing violent crimes.

Harold created a machine for the government, a machine that is designed to detect acts of terror before they happen. This is done by monitoring the entire world through every cell-phone, email and surveillance camera. Harold discovered that the machine sees everything. Everything from potential terrorist acts to violent crimes that involve ordinary people.

The government considered everything but acts of terror "irrelevant", so Harold made a backdoor. A backdoor gives him the social security numbers of people involved in future violent crimes.

Harold and John work together to try to stop these "irrelevant" crimes before they happen.

Person of Interest has good timing with Snowden`s released documents. I love the show but hate the thought of governments getting machines like this. Some of it is luckily just science fiction, at least for now. Its absolutely worth watching

Sherlock is a new contemporary take on the classic Arthur Conan Doyle stories. Many of the details and stories from the original books are kept, only modernized to fit in today's society and technology.

His most important tool, after his brilliant mind, is a modern smartphone.

Doctor Watson is a medical veteran of the Afghan war. Together they navigate a web of cryptic clues and myriad of lethal killers to get at the truth

This is the best adoption of the Sherlock Holmes books I have ever watched.

It`s truly exciting to watch Sherlock's fast and leaping but accurate deductions. This is a show everyone should try out.

Shawn Spencer is posing as a psychic.

He does this with his fail prof memory and excellent attention details.

He and his best friend Gus is hired by the police after they manage to cons them into thinking that Shawn is a real psychic with powers that help to solve crimes.

Psych is a hilarious show full of witty commentary.

I haven't seen the last seasons, but I want to do it if I get time. This is a delightful show that will give you plenty of laughs.

Dr. Temperance "Bones" Brennan is a highly-skilled forensic anthropologist. Bones and her team help the FBI solving crimes where only the bones of the victims are reminding. Their handler from the FBI is Agent Seeley Booth.

Bones is one of the better forensic crime shows.

It is based on a book series, but it actually has very little in common with the books.

Dr. Cal Lightman is a deception specialist that reads the truth from people`s faces.

Cal has partnered up with Dr. Gillian Foster to create the Lightman Group, selling their services as deception experts. His personal team also includes Eli Loker and Ria Torres.

The Lightman Group has also started to cooperate with the FBI. With Agent Ben Reynolds as their liaison.

They tackle all kinds of cases using their skills to look for deception.

Lie to Me is a really good series.

It`s interesting to see how facial and body reading is used to solve cases.

This show follows a team from the Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU), a subsection of the FBI.

They travel to local police stations to investigate serial killings or other serious crimes. Crimes likely involving a mentally distorted unsub (Unknown or unidentified subject).

This special team uses behavioral profiling to track and apprehend the unsubs. This means they are using psychology and statistics to come up with the basic characteristics of the unsub and the victims.

This is one of the more interesting police procedural shows.

Criminal Minds is definitely worth giving a try.

Walter Sherman is an Iraq war veteran who got a strange brain damage from an IED exploitation.It makes him good at finding things by seeing seemingly unrelated connections.

Walter uses this skill to find things for other people. He works together with Leo Knox, his legal advisor, and a bar owner. US Deputy Marshal Isabel Zambada. And teen parolee and thief Willa Monday, who is serving her probation with the team.

The Finder is an OK show with a quirky main character. Too bad it ended after only one season.

Michael Westen is a seasoned spy for the USA. One day he is suddenly "burned" without knowing why.

Being burned is usually a death sentence for a spy.

Michael survives by doing impossible jobs for desperate people in Miami. He's usually aided by his ex-girlfriend Fiona and his former FBI informer Sam.

Eli Monpress is talented. He's charming. He's is a spirit charmer.
He's the greatest thief of his time.

Eli's companions are a swordsman and a demonseed. The swordman is carrying the most powerful magic sword in the world, but he has no magical ability of his own. And the demonseed can step through shadows and punch through walls, which is helpful for a thief.

Every single object has a spirit, and a wizard's power derives from the ability to enter into a mutual contract with these spirits. On the more evil side of the spectrum, wizards can also enslave the spirits.

Eli seems to be able to just talk them into doing what he wants. Like when he once persuaded a dungeon door that it would be much better off without those annoying nails keeping it together.

This book series might not be deep or complex, but it is still a very good read. It is written in a witty and charming way that makes it hard to lay down.

The Legend of Eli Monpress books is worth reading if you want something fast-paced and fun.
